Gameto is seeking a Scientist I who will be a collaborative, translational-focused problem solver and wants to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries and commercializing stem cell-derived therapeutics and human fertility engineering.

About You:

You want to explore and develop novel technologies for genetic engineering, and complex organoid development to tackle ambitious synthetic biology applications for generating human ovarian cell types in a dish. You aim to work at the intersection of multiple biological disciplines utilizing high-throughput, scalable technology to answer basic biology questions for applications that address pressing industry and public health needs. You enjoy working in a creative and diverse group of people, leveraging your on-the-job learning to push innovation in the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Scientist, you will be highly integrated into our research operations and will find that your work is both discovery and translation based, with shifting priorities as projects mature.
  • You will be an active team member who works within an interdisciplinary, focused research team towards project completion.
  • Your ability to plan will help in preparing short-term work activities on projects as well as guide long term project goals.
  • You will be trained to develop stem cell-based differentiation protocols for generating novel ovarian cell types, helping to improve production processes, differentiation yields, and engineer high-throughput screening methods.
  • Pay attention to detail, strictly adhere to safety protocols, and use knowledge of basic laboratory procedures to advance projects under rapidly shifting priorities and timelines.


  • PhD in Genetics, Biological Sciences, Development, or Therapeutics
  • Technical proficiency in human stem cell culturing
  • Experience with flow cytometry, RT-qPCR, immunofluorescence confocal microscopy, and cell viability assessment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1+ year experience in cell differentiation, cell development, and/or cell engineering research
  • Technical training in human cell culture, including primary human cell lines, monolayer and suspension cell culture methods.
  • Experience with bioreactors and industrial scaled cell manufacturing culture, in GMP and non-GMP formats
  • Experience with one or more of the following is advantageous but not required:
    • Next generation sequencing (NGS) library construction
    • Molecular cloning and transfection of human genes
    • Organoid development and culturing
    • Programming experience in R and python
