Gameto is seeking a computational biologist to join its research team. This position is part of a growing computational team to transform the fertility market by introducing transformative cell engineering methodologies to generate reproductive cell types and products.

About You:

You will join an interdisciplinary team of computational biologists, engineers, embryologists, doctors and stem cell biologists who are working to transform the reproductive longevity space, by leveraging the advances of cellular reprogramming to address infertility and aging through the lens of the ovary. You possess a working knowledge of high-throughput DNA and RNA sequencing along with a passion for playing an essential role in the development of transformative therapies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply existing and novel algorithms to stem cell data sets; analyze data quality; critically review and analyze results; communicate results to biologists, computational biologists, software engineers, and experimentalists.
  • Develop data analysis strategies, write algorithms, and deploy computational tools for the exploration of large data sets, consisting of DNA and RNA sequencing data from stem cell-derived ovarian cell types, single-cell sequencing data, epigenetic data (bisulfite sequencing, ATAC-Seq, Cut and Run), proteomic data, sample images, and drug screening data.
  • Conduct multi-omics integration of datasets and generate global machine learning models (supervised and unsupervised architectures) representing the data.
  • Explore novel data visualization tools, with emphasis on integrating diverse data types.
  • Expertise in applied statistics and machine learning.
  • Implement algorithms as software for distribution via cloud based platforms.


  • PhD in Computer Science, Bioinformatics, Engineering, Math, Statistics, Physics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Strong programming skills and experience in algorithm development (Python, Julia, R, MATLAB, or C++). Both Python and R are required.
  • Knowledge of statistics and computational data analysis.
  • Knowledge of embryonic development and basic reproductive biology/genetics and cellular biology is required.
