Gameto is seeking a cell scientist who will be a collaborative, translational-focused problem solver and wants to be part of a dynamic team dedicated to pushing the boundaries and commercializing stem cell-derived therapeutics and human fertility engineering.

About You:

You want to explore and develop novel technologies for genetic engineering, and complex organoid development to tackle ambitious synthetic biology applications for generating human ovarian cell types in a dish. You thrive in working at the intersection of multiple biological disciplines utilizing high-throughput, scalable technology to answer basic biology questions for applications that address pressing industry and public health needs. You enjoy working in a creative and diverse group of people, leveraging your expertise and on-the-job learning to push innovation in the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • As a Scientist, you will be at the center of our operations and will find that your work is both discovery and translation based, with shifting priorities as projects mature.
  • With your deep knowledge in the discipline, you will be an active team member who influences at the project team level and can lead focused research teams towards project completion.
  • Your ability to plan will help in preparing short-term work activities on projects as well as guide long term project goals.
  • Your expertise will be utilized to develop stem cell based differentiation protocols for generating novel ovarian cell types, helping to improve production processes, differentiation yields, and engineer high-throughput screening methods.
  • Pay attention to detail, strictly adhere to safety protocols, and use knowledge of basic laboratory procedures to advance projects under rapidly shifting priorities and timelines.


  • PhD in Biology, bioengineering, or biomedical sciences.
  • Extensive experience in stem cell culture is required.
  • Expertise with stem cell differentiation, genetic screening, and organoid development is required.
  • Expertise in next generation sequencing, RNA-Seq, scRNA-Seq, chIP-Seq or Cut&Run,and methyl-seq is required.
  • Experience with molecular cloning, screening library creation, highly parallel and multiplex screening, and flow cytometry is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with protein expression characterization is preferred.
  • Experience with confocal imaging is preferred.
  • Experience with cryosectioning, whole mount imaging, and immunofluorescence is preferred.
  • Experience with mass spectroscopy in biological samples.
    Highly organized, detail-oriented individual capable of keeping laboratory inventories up to date.
  • Robust knowledge in fertility research is preferred, preferably in human or mammalian systems.
  • The capacity to work effectively in a team-oriented environment on several researchprograms simultaneously with aggressive timelines and excellence in multi-tasking.
  • Experience with transcriptomic analysis and data analysis languages and software such as R, python, graph pad, excel, slurm, flow jo is preferred.
